Tempos Reversos

Directed by Hopi Chapman, the short film presents a series of works that the artist Hélio Fervenza exhibited in the exhibition " Tempos Reversos", at Galeria Mamute, and in the exhibition " O Poder da Multiplicação", at the Museu de Arte do Rio Grande do Sul, both in Porto Alegre - Brazil, in 2018. The film makes a reflection regarding the artist's poetics, under the gazes of the artist himself, the historian and curator Prof. Dr. Eduardo Veras and Gregor Jansen, director of the Kunsthalle in Düsseldorf. Through a dive into the artistic universe of Fervenza, who among other exhibitions has participated in the Venice Biennale and the São Paulo Biennale, themes such as the creation process, the role of the exhibition space, the spectator and time are addressed. The soundtrack was specially composed for the documentary by Vito Oliveira Azevedo.
